Clothing contains evidence of the maker and the wearer. In this book the artists capture images of their clothing by making rubbings of personally significant garments. These drawings of embellishments, seams, and closures directly capture a moment in the life of the textile. Each of these rubbings was transferred to letterpress printing plates, printed in white ink, resist dyed, and waxed before being sewn into a concertina binding. To view this book the reader must put their hands into handles on the cover and open their arms. Fashioning is a tactile experience embedded in cloth and paper.
