The walls of this gallery are three different heights. Yards of fabric were hung and custom printed with images of birch trunks, from floor to ceiling. Each fabric panel is gathered into folds that mimic the folds of birch bark around the ‘eye’ of the image. Some of these gathers are cut into images of birch leaf veins. The negative shapes from these cutouts are then re-mounted onto gathers on black fabric flanking the birch panels.
